We keep seeing more and more instances of technology and décor combining in great pieces.  Well the newest and perhaps best is the Hi Mirror by the Italian company Valli Arredobango.  The Hi Mirror combines a clock, radio, television, and more with of course a mirror.  Imagine doing your hair in the morning while watching your favorite morning show and actually not being late because the clock is never out of your view.  As part of the I want it all and I want it now generation(I blame the internet), I suspect this mirror will do quite well.  

The Link incorporates the most advance LED lighting technology to date with a style inspired from the classic pantograph task lamp.   The LED intensity can be set on high or low and its LED array is combined with an optical diffusing film and scratch resistant polycarbonate lens.  It also features 360 degree adjustment, which makes it about as convenient as it gets.

The Link has undeniable style and undoubtedly embodies Pablo’s mission to interpret light in its many forms while reaming devoted to simplicity and usefulness.  I also feel like this lamp has a certain animated quality, like it could fit in with the characters from Toy Story.(Remember the movie with Woody the cowboy and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger?!).  And that’s a positive thing in my opinion by the way.  How successful is your design if it actually seems to take on its own personality?  Very.

I like products that save space- nesting tables, stackable boxes, those dolls people used to have that fit inside each other, etc. etc.  Well Puur Design Studio brings us what just may be the best example yet.  Appropriately named the Magic Chair, this is actually a series of chairs that fits inside each other.  Designed to be both functional and stylish, this chair pretty much has it all.

It doesn’t get much cooler than this lamp. The Tavolo Lamp from Nicolo Taliani combines a colored cable with a Pyrex base.  I’ve always liked things in which you can almost see how they work, and that’s quite true of the Tavolo. Not much else to say other than I’d like to have one. What do you think, must-have or not so much?

I’ve been reading a lot of posts from fellow bloggers that say with the new year should come a new effort to organize.  I agree completely, but must confess that while I’m pretty organized mentally the same is not always true for the stuff in my home. 

This holiday season brought a lot of great gifts with it, for which I am very thankful.  One of the most useful was a storage ottoman.  We needed an ottoman anyway, and the added storage is truly a blessing.  It’s a great place for all those things you aren’t quite sure where to put, but need to have available- magazines, remotes, DVDs, and even the instructions to that new blu-ray player (just in case we ever decide to read them).

Two of my favorite recently spotted storage ottomans are picutred above. The first is the Pandora Ottoman and the second is the Plaza Storage Ottoman. Both of these also feature a built-in tray, because let’s face it – it can be very tempting to use the ottoman as a table so you might as well be prepared.

Most of us put a lot of effort into the design of our living rooms. This makes sense, since it’s the room we most often find ourselves spending time in whether alone or when guests are over.  If you stop to think about it though, just about every gathering or visit involves food of some sort.  This is why it’s so important that your table wear show off your style just as much as your living room.
