Gorgeous Spaces: A London Home

It’s been a while since we’ve peaked into some fabulous homes for sale. Take a look at this beauty offered by Savills in the United Kingdom.

The white and black living room into dining room – with that lucite coffee table is just gorgeous. I’m loving the white walls and white floors, too. It’s bright and modern and inviting, not overdone.

And how about that toilet? Who knew a toilet could bring so much joy?! [I never imagined saying that about a toilet!]

There’s also an awesome patio for entertaining, although I would probably add an outdoor heater so I could utilize its beauty for more months out of the year! My parents and younger brothers live in London, so I wouldn’t mind moving there. Plus, it looks like this home is in the Mayfair area – with fabulous shopping!

What’s your favorite part of this home, from these images?

Product Pick: Hully

There’s not much I wouldn’t do to have a Hully, which you can see above, in my home.

Orange isn’t one of my favorite colors in the world, but that’s alright because the Hully is offered in plenty of other fabulous colors. How about the wooden accent on the top of the desk? I love the break-up it provides in the design of the chair.

What I love most about this modern workstation is that once you’re finished using the desk, it flips down into a seat. So essentially, the Hully can be a desk and a chair arrangement, two chairs or two desks if you’re feeling extra productive. Being that I work from home on a daily basis, the Hully would be ideal for my living room. I could work in the comfort of my living room without slouching on the couch by day and then turn it back into a modern seating arrangement by night.

The Hully is designed by Design You Edit, a combination of two Italian companies that partnered together to create completely editable furniture. In addition to this product pick, Design You Edit has so many great pieces that I would purchase them all in different colors and fabrics until I ran out of options. Even if it meant that I would need a refinance mortgage, I’d still do it. It’s really that cool.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on the Hully and other editable furniture?

Chairs in Glass

What do you think of these chairs in glass?

The concept is interesting, but I’m not sure how useful they would. If it were raining it might be nice, but you would still have to dash outside to get in the glass cube. It does look pretty chic and modern, especially if the chairs were a bit more contemporary, but the functionality is holding me back a little.

Would you put these in your yard or would you rather chairs with the glass cube?

Browsing for Inspiration

Sometimes I like to browse different websites for inspiration, like Pinterest. Other times, I like to browse through different furniture websites for decor inspiration, to see what’s out there, what would fill the empty spaces in my home, to procrastinate, etc. I always feel like I’m coming back to the same websites, so it’s refreshing when a new one is pointed in my direction.

Such is the case with Viesso. Once I started there, I went to look for a nice chair to fill this hole I have in my living room, which has been really bothering me since we took down our Christmas tree and it’s even more visible! Anyway, they have a large selection of ecosmart furniture at Viesso, which I know is quite important to many modern furniture shoppers out there.

Really, they have quite a large selection of many items, including modern wallpaper, which I may or may not have spent quite a bit of time browsing. Even better, a handy wallpaper calculator is there to help you quickly figure out how much you need! Love it. Plus, they have some great contemporary patterns that would look great in any room. [Specifically, my bathroom.]

So, if you haven’t checked Viesso out yet, I strongly urge you to do so – they have an awesome selection and a clean, easy-to-use website.

What piece do you covet most?

Weekly Six: 1.17.13

I can’t believe we’re more than halfway through the month of January already. Can you? I’m still not used to writing 2013, but it’ll come to me. Hope you had a great week and an even better weekend ahead!

Here’s this week’s Weekly Six:

1 – Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a compact wood-burning oven in your own kitchen?

2 – I could sit on the patio of this penthouse for days on end. Or just stare out the glass walls!

3 – An easy DIY that recycles old sweaters and makes a cute case for your iPad.

4 – Recommendations for 10 cleaning tools every home needs – do you have them all?

5 – Just starting watching Girls this week and I’m liking it so far. Anybody else a fan of the show?

6 – Gold + agate = a lamp made in heaven!

Did you find anything fabulous this week?

DIY to Try: Gold Mugs

Don’t you just love DIY’s such as these? They’re quick, easy, inexpensive and really add some spice to things you probably already have. All you need is an oil-based Sharpie and a mug, dish, glass, bowl, etc.

I’m not the world’s greatest artist, so I probably wouldn’t be able to replicate the fun pattern as they did on Oh, Hello Friend, shown above. But polka dots or a fun quote, that I could handle.

As far as I’ve read, you don’t even need to bake these after you draw on them for them to set – the oil-based marker will just stick. But that could be false information, and I would probably bake them just in case. Also, the ink isn’t food safe, so you have to keep your designs on places where food won’t be touching. So maybe that dish I suggested above isn’t such a good idea. The outside of a bowl would work though!

Anyway, I have a TON of white mugs that a few Sharpies could really liven up. How about you? Will you try this cute and simple DIY?
