Two more days until New Years Eve! Are you ready?

I’ll be serving champagne out of plain old champagne glasses this New Year’s Eve – but for next year (or even next week) I’ll be picking up one of these fabulous flutes.

I’m really in the mood for a HUGE piece of abstract art. By HUGE I mean like 6 feet by 6 feet. Or maybe 5 ft by 7 ft. And it doesn’t have to be fancy. But it has to big. (There are so many things I could add to this paragraph but this is NOT that type of blog!!)

So, anyway.

The first black and white artwork is from one of Valentino’s homes – I’m not sure which. But I’d love to go to bed every night and wake up to that every morning.

The second piece is by Nicole Cohen of Sketch42. It’s seriously awesome and so is she; I definitely recommend that you check out her blog if you aren’t already familiar. PLUS, she paints walls that are kinda like that fabulous piece in Valentino’s home.

The next image has not one but two pieces of large wall art that I’d take in a heartbeat. Designed by Brown Davis Interiors, I’m loving the brightness of both pieces combined with those gorgeous Mongolian lamb chairs. While both pieces are simple, their large size and vibrant color really adds the perfect pop. And I feel like I could probably make one of these two myself (you know, to hold me over until I can actually afford a nice piece made by someone else.)

Just three more days until New Year’s Eve! Do you have big plans?

There’s still time to plan a fun little get-together or to add some glitz and glam to whatever you already have planned. Above you’ll find some inspiring ideas to implement this weekend. Although the Ball Drop Cupcakes may be a tad out of my league, I can totally print out that cute subway art and throw it in a frame by Saturday. (And hey, so can you!)

When I saw the first image above this morning, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the low hanging lamps over a coffee table. It made me think about low-hanging lights in living rooms as a whole. It’s such a different look than over a kitchen counter or dining table.

So of course to find more I turned to Pinterest and these are what I found. What do you think – love this look? I still can’t decide!

Then it’s only fair for your fish to live in a modern fishbowl – right?

For just $40, your favorite fish friend can have a chic stylish little abode that will go better with your decor than one of those round things with stones on the bottom anyway.

The  product description suggests grouping a few together to create your own fish condominium. (Just make sure they pay their association fees each month!)
