While browsing through Pinterest, I found that first image of plush purply goodness. I’m seriously in so love with that sofa that I can’t stop staring at it. Is that wrong? It’s so plush it looks fake! And it’s soooo purple.

So anyway, that pin lead me to the portfolio to Drake Design Associates. And the rest of the home, in the Flatiron district of New York City, is just as gorgeous. I’ve included a few images, but you can see more in their portfolio.

The use of color – mainly the purple (would you call it fushcia?) – is beautiful. And I love the colorful, geometric artwork. Especially those stripes. Such a classic and bold way to bring in more colors.

So, what do you think about all this purple?

Diamonds are forever. And a girl’s best friend. All the phrases that apply to diamonds don’t necessarily have to apply to real diamonds. Diamonds are pretty much fabulous in any way they are presented. Such is the case with this cute and quirky Diamond Lights, would you agree?

Designed by Eric Therner for Frama, the Diamond Lights are soft and subtle, and not overly dramatic as a real diamond that size would likely be! On his website, Therner says that the lights look just as well switched off as they do when switched on. From these two images above, I believe he’s right!

I love the idea of an entire row of exposed Diamond Lights hanging over a bar or as a single hanging over a nightstand next to a sleek bed. How do you envision these modern lights?

A few months ago, I made a series of DIY wall art for the wall above the sofa in our living room. As soon as we put them up, I started kicking myself for not putting in a floating shelf and balancing the pieces against them.

After these images, I’m kicking myself even harder! The first one is my favorite, with the grey walls and all the different size frames and colors. However, I do love the black and white theme and staggered shelves in the second. And the combination of frames with the initials and boxes in the third.

Maybe I’ll grab a shelf at IKEA and replicate this look over the next week or so. Have any of you done something like this in your home lately? I’d love to hear!

It’s always fun to switch up your table decor every once in awhile. For myself, I’m getting sick of pulling out the same placemats every night, so it’d be nice to invest in a few more designs, especially since it’s only two of us most of the time!

I woke up this morning feeling strangely overwhelmed and anxious. I’m not usually a person of high anxiety, so I know it’s time for a change or something different in my life. And then, it was as if my Google Reader became my Google Mind Reader and sent a sign from the heavens with this post from Apartment Therapy.

Although the post was from Friday, the 21 day challenge starts today. And I’m going to try my best at it – because I seriously need it! So as their beginner page says: I’m new and I’m ready!
