Six Different Scarves

It’s getting chillier and chillier as the days go by. Well at least here in NJ! What’s the weather like by you? (If it’s warm, please don’t tell me!)

Even though its been unseasonably warm this late in the Fall season, it’s still strange to think about transitioning scarves and gloves into my daily attire. But I have to do it soon, because there’s nothing enjoyable about gripping onto a freezing steering wheel at 7 am.

Do you have a favorite scarf you’ll be wearing for the majority of the season? I think I may need a new one to pull in my rotation. And whether you’re a guy or a gal, we’ve got six different scarves for you today. Which is your fave?

Born Into Carpets

Dressing Room

Dining Room

Master Bedroom

Den

I never thought I’d be wishing that I’d be born into carpets. Until Elle Decor had to go and feature the gorgeous home of Ashley Stark, creative director of Stark Carpets. And I know everyone and their sister has already blogged, tweeted or dreamt about this apartment, but I needed to dream about being born into carpets for a few minutes today, so please excuse me!

So first of all – that dressing room! There are so many things that I love about it – from the turquoise walls to that diamond ring to the pink skull and lucite chair. And really just the fact that she has a dressing room is enough for me! I could keep going on this room but I’ll stop after I tell you how much I love the mirrored dresser. And of course the white rug.

There’s so many things I could list about the other rooms that stand out to me – like that navy blue buffet that I somehow missed the first time I saw that room. And the headboard and chandelier in the bedroom and all of the grays and all of the fabulous chairs in the den.

If I lived here, I don’t know which room I would spend the most time in, because they’re all just really gorgeous. Can you imagine decorating a home when your family owns a company that has beautiful carpets/wallpaper/rugs/furniture? I wouldn’t survive it.

Well anyway – now that I’ve had an absolute lovefest with this home – tell me all the things that you love about it! And for more carpet ideas, visit Cormar Carpets.

Six Different Washi Tapes

I’m thinking of investing in some washi tape, since I don’t yet own any. Now may be as good of a time as any with the holidays coming up, as I’ve seen several blogs and Pinterest pins brightening up their wrapping with washi tape here and there.

There are a ton of bright and pretty solid colors, polka dots and stripes, but for this post I decided to go with six really different patterns, not patterns that are “everyday” patterns.

Have you purchased any washi tape lately? Where is your go-to store to purchase it? And what have you made with washi tape? I’d love to see your projects!

Love This Look?

Can you imagine having a floor made of broken mirrors? I think it would look great in a bathroom, but not so much in the bedroom. I don’t think I would want to wake up first thing in the morning and swing my feet over the bed – I’d probably forget the floors were sealed and freak myself out!

These floors are definitely a conversation piece, no matter which room they were placed in. Back to the bathroom idea, wouldn’t they be awesome with dark blue or even black walls? (It would probably have to be a fancy powder room that only guests use.)

What do you think? I just came across this photo on Pinterest – which (kinda) says the floors are coated by polyurethane. Love this look or not so much?

Recipe Radar: Cookies!

Are you doing any baking this holiday season? I’m dying to get in my kitchen and bake a million cookies and truffles and maybe even some peppermint bark, too!

The cookie recipes I’ve included in today’s Recipe Radar are all cookies that I plan to bake this weekend. I made all of my cookie decisions based on cookies that my mom made every year. How do you choose what cookies to make? Do you like to try new recipes or do you stick to your traditional faves?

Recipes:
Sugar Cookies
Molasses Crinkles
Thumbprints
Dark Chocolate Truffles
Candy Canes
Oatmeal Scotchies

Six Different Piggy Banks

I don’t know about you, but I keep my change in a hideous plastic container that does nothing for my decor. It’s kind of embarrassing now that I think about it, because it has a yellow and brown sticker on the outside.

So, anyway, I’ve been thinking for a while now that maybe a fun piggy bank would be better for my home. Gotta love something that’s extremely functional and stylish right? I’ve been drooling over that blue Areaware piggy bank for forever now, so I had to include it. But I think the other five I found are pretty fab, don’t you? (Especially that glitter one that is probably for a little girls room but I just don’t care!)

Oh, and one of these six different piggy banks is technically not a piggy bank, but that’s ok. Can you spot which one!

Do you have a piggy bank or do you keep your change in an ugly jar like me?
