When I hear the name von Furstenberg, my first thought (and probably most peoples’) is Diane – legendary fashion designer and creator of my fabulous set of luggage. And while we’re not wrong to think that, there’s a new von Furstenberg in town that deserves some serious attention. Alexandra von Furstenberg (yes the two are related, but is complicated and has nothing to do with modern design or furniture) has created a line of what she calls “brilliant sleek furniture,” and I have to say I like what I see.
Alexandra’s line of furniture is chic and unique. The use of crystal-clear materials and bright colors creates a sense of illumination that really makes each of the pieces stand out. Pictured here are Soiree (top) and Ice (bottom). See Alexandra’s brilliant work here.
